GDL Productions

Interact is a 40-minute video production promoting a vocational art program for people with disabilities. Their works are original. The performers travel around the world as advocates for change.

It is impossible to imagine a group more diverse, or more dedicated to diversity than the Interact Center. The mix of people from a rainbow of ethnic, age and disability groups gives one the impression of being in an inclusive Garden of Eden when at the Center. There are no superiors/inferiors; no staff vs. clients. There is only the collegial mix of diverse people who are all focused on the same goals, the creation of beauty, the making of art.

MISSION STATEMENT: The Interact Center for the Visual and Performing Arts is a place where artists gather because of their abilities not disabilities. At Interact artists with disability labels create, perform, earn and help the community understand that gifts are given to all people and that vision is not lost, nor even impaired by a disabling condition.

OBJECTIVES: To challenge stereotypes caused by labels that focus on peoples deficits and to iluminate talents and abilities. To create opportunities for artists in the community to work together in an inclusive, creative, and truly diverse community. To create a conduit for change in the community leading to a more humane and supportive treatment for people with disabilities, the elderly and the disadvantaged.
